The EP Ecology team have been working hard over the last 18 months to make changes to the way we operate and manage our business.
We’ve changed how we manage the quality of our deliverables, how we manage our environmental impact, and how we ensure the health and safety of our team and our contractors and clients.
All this has paid off, as our business management system has been audited by NQA and found to be compliant with three key ISO standards, a real asset to our business and it helps ensure our clients know they are choosing a company that will provide them a quality product in a safe and environmentally friendly way.
ISO9001:2015 – Quality Management
ISO9001 relates to how an organisation manages the quality of their products and services. It ensures that your business has a set of processes and systems to ensure that your end users or clients are receiving consistent, high quality products.
How does this relate to our work? Our quality management system ensures that all of our reports for our clients go through a two-stage review process to ensure that they are fit for purpose. however, it also relates to the materials and equipment that we use to collect data, ensuring they are of an appropriate standard for the task at hand, and are maintained effectively.
ISO14001:2015 – Environmental Management
ISO14001 relates to how an organisation manages the impact of its operations on the environment. It ensures that an organisation understands and meets its legal duties with regards to the environment, and encourages the control and reduction of environmental impacts from a business.
How does this relate to our work? Our environmental management system sets out the key guiding principles of how we can mitigate our environmental impacts: Reduction in single-use materials, re-use of equipment; and recycling. It sets out the ways in which we control and process the waste we generate, and it ensures that we are cognisant of the legal duties imposed on us to reduce our environmental impacts.
ISO45001:2018 – Occupational Health and Safety Management
ISO45001 relates to how an organisation safeguards its workers, clients, and members of the public around them. It encourages businesses to consider deeply the work they do, the hazards and risks associated, and develop safe systems of work which protect anyone who could be impacted by such.
How does this relate to our work? Our health and safety management system encourages all of our team and contractors to be involved with decisions relating to their health, to management of risk, and to protecting themselves and others whilst they work. We have a series of training courses that all of our team have completed to raise awareness of health and safety and risk management, as well as a thorough risk assessment process to help safeguard our team, our clients, and members of the public.
We are extremely proud to have achieved certification to these standards, and would like to thank everyone who has assisted us on this journey.
Cheers!
