Freelance Ecologists and Bat Surveyors Required

Due to an expanding workload, EP Ecology needs to increase our pool of associate freelance ecologists throughout Scotland.

We’re looking for freelancers who are set up with their own insurances and equipment to assist with a number of surveys (primarily bat emergence and re-entry surveys) across the central belt of Scotland, with bat survey projects currently ongoing in Ayr, Edinburgh, and around Perth.

If you’re interested in joining our pool of associate ecologists, get in touch by emailing the below information to erik.paterson@epecology.co.uk:

  • Your location / areas covered;
  • Proof of insurance (professional indemnity & public liability);
  • A brief summary of competence or surveys undertaken or a CV; and
  • Your charge out rates.

About us

EP Ecology is currently still small, and you can read more about the company here. We are a CIEEM Registered Practice committed to furthering best practice and delivering for both our clients and biodiversity. We’re also climate positive and offset our emissions by paying into a tree-planting carbon offsetting scheme, organising local litter picks, and volunteering with bog restoration projects.

To deliver our workload, we keep most of the single-person projects in house at present and draw on a pool of associate ecologists to deliver projects such as nocturnal bat and newt surveys as well as sites where health and safety requires multiple people so there’s a variety of workload available. If you’re interested in being involved, get in touch today!

Cheers,
Erik
