Hello! I’m Erik Paterson, the Director of EP Ecology ltd., if you couldn’t have guessed from the rather imaginative company name. I made the decision to set up EP Ecology in June 2020, right in the midst of a global pandemic. Which, as I write this is still not clear whether it was a stroke of genius, or absolute idiocy but, I do know one thing that it definitely is: Incredibly exciting.
I thought I’d use this post to introduce myself. I’ve worked in consultancy now for over 9 years during which time I have gained experience at a range of companies in a range of ecological deliverables. Through working with people from various backgrounds, with various specialisms, I have been able to develop my knowledge of ecological project delivery at various scales and from various viewpoints. These days, I take a pragmatic and informed approach to ecological projects, whether this be a simple preliminary ecological appraisal through to more complex multi-species impact assessments.
Whilst my favourite species groups are amphibians, reptiles, and bats, I love all wildlife and have capacity to undertake species surveys for most protected and notable species, and through a network of associate ecologists I can facilitate project delivery for all ecological needs.
